Baby diarrhea: Diarrhea at a Dangerous Age
Diarrhea in babies and small children can be dangerous. Infants are easily
Dehydraied ,and they lack the abLlity to tell you exactly how they feel
Reach for the right stuff.
Water and fruit juice are not the best fluids for dehydration a baby. Rehydration solutions are good for infants toddlers during tghe acute phase of dehydration .
You can make your own dehydration solution add 1 tea spoon of sugar and a pinch of
salt to 1 quart of water ,but if you make a mistake' you can overload the baby with
salt. tf you can afford the commercially available ones
you are much better off. There are available at drug stores without
prescription."
Continue feeding...
You should continue to feed a child,,
"but you should probably avoid milk .for a day if the diarrhea is severe. What you
feed a child depends on the age of the child, but for infants it is recommended rice
cereal, apple sauce, and bananas for a day or two. These foods tend to be a bit
binding. For older children stick with plain dry toast, dry crackers, chicken without the skin, and other bland food.
Know when to quit
"The biggest mistake most people make is in not
knowing when to quit treatment.

the bowel with good bacteria,, "lt isn't a bad idea to feed it to them'
